BrassEase is an interesting way to learn how to play trumpet. You will be able to learn reading music for trumpet, playing trumpet, and trumpet fingering.
The program has a simple and intuitive interface, you also will be provided with hints and instructions, so it will be very easy to use the program. The application simulates trumpet fingering on the computer's number keypad (1,2,3 keys). You will be shown notes and the correct fingering for playing each of them that you are to learn and remember. Then you will be able to start practicing: a note will appear on the screen and you will need to enter the correct fingering (corresponding keys for the note), and if you do it right you will proceed to the next note. The program consists of eight levels and each level will provide you with more notes to learn and practice. After finishing each level you will be offered to master gained skills. Unfortunately, the demo version includes only one level to test the application and offers no quiz, though it is enough, I think, to decide whether you like BrassEase or not.
I never thought of learning to play trumpet, but after testing the program I found it very interesting and easy to use. Of course, you will not become a master just using this program, but, at least you will not bother your family members' ears with awful sounds and save your lungs while learning the basics of trumpet playing.
